Catherine is begging Hamish to find her father. The uncle he has never met has supposedly gone wandering in the Klondike gold fields for the 100 year anniversary of the actual discovery of gold. The something she wants is again going to take him into a place he detests. As he suspects she wants something from him. Hamish’s cousin Catherine has an ulterior motive for finding Hamish. To make matters worse his father’s family who he hoped to stay hidden from have finally found him. Hamish has to make a decision as to who is to manage the Los Angeles end of the business. His longtime business partner and mentor, Warren is finally planning on retiring. Lori, his wife has birthed their third child and is suffering a mild case of postpartum depression.
His own brushes with the ‘sight’ are evolving as well. Hamish MacGrough is shocked when his oldest son, Birk, and his adopted sister’s child show an increased aptitude for the supernatural. Living on his family's ancestral lands has opened the door to paranormal incidents, which have increased. But when he finds the murderer, will he be forced to protect that person? In a race to find the answer before the police, MacGrough has to use every resource he can, including the wife he fears may be a prime suspect Was Vince the man who broke her heart?
